How To Easilly Maintain Your Landscape

If you would like to make sure that your landscape looks as good as it possibly can, then you will want to take a few moments to review the following tips.

Tackle Weeds With Barriers

While there are a lot of weed control chemicals on the market that you can buy and spray, you might not want to jump to that extreme just yet. One of the first things you will want to do is to control the amount of weeds that are popping up in places where they are the most noticeable and the most inconvenient, such as in your flower bed and around your landscape edging. A good way to do this is to lay down a layer of weed control paper. This is sold at most hardware and home improvement stores. Simply lay it flat on the ground and secure it in place with metal or plastic pins that are designed to keep the paper from flying up and away. Then you will cover the paper with stones or mulch so it is not visible and you will have more of a finished look. The weeds will not grow through the weed barrier paper because water and sunlight is not able to penetrate the paper, making the growth of weeds impossible. Add Fresh Mulch Yearly

You may not have to completely replace the existing mulch every year, but you will as it starts to break down and disintegrate. However, at least once a year, preferably at the beginning of the growing season, you will want to top off your old mulch with a layer of fresh mulch. This will give your landscape a clean and fresh design with very little effort. Of course, if you suddenly decide that you want to completely change the color of the mulch that you are using, you will need to use a small shovel to scoop up all of the existing mulch before laying down the new color.

Keep The Bugs Away

It is important to make sure that you are doing everything that you can in order to keep the bugs away from everything that you spent good money and time to plant in your yard. If you don't, you will find that they will quickly eat away at all of your hard work. One way to do this is to invest in a quality insecticide that will deter the bugs from even coming near your plants. Make sure that you are keeping your pets away from any area where insecticide is used or that you are specifically using a product that is going to be safe for humans and pets alike.

With just those three tips in mind, you should find that you are going to have a much easier time keeping your landscape in the best possible condition.
